New Delhi: At the opening of the 65th Israel Annual Conference on Aerospace Sciences (IACAS 2026), held in Israel and attended by leading engineers, scientists, researchers and aerospace experts from around the world, Chairman of the Board of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Boaz Levy, delivered keynote remarks focused on the future of warfare, artificial intelligence, aerospace innovation and Israel’s operational technological edge.
Speaking before hundreds of participants from industry, academia and the defence sector, Levy addressed the operational lessons of recent conflicts, the growing role of AI in defence technologies, the transformation of aerospace engineering and IAI’s accelerating global growth.
In his remarks, Levy said, “In the recent operation ‘Roaring Lion,’ IAI’s systems redefined the nation’s protective boundaries and rewrote the rules of engagement for the modern battlefield.”
Referring to the Arrow Anti-Ballistic Air Defence System, Levy added, “Our Arrow System made global history. First-of-their-kind operational interceptions deep in space, outside the atmosphere, against complex ballistic threats, proved that IAI stands at the absolute vanguard of global science.”
Addressing the growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across defence platforms, Levy stated, “We are no longer developing merely mechanical or electronic systems; we are developing learning systems that adapt dynamically to evolving threats on the battlefield. For our engineers, AI is an essential partner in thought.”
At the same time, Levy stressed the importance of maintaining human judgement and responsibility in advanced defence systems: “Artificial Intelligence is an excellent force multiplier. Yet, it lacks moral and ethical judgement. Man remains, and will always remain, the most significant and vital factor.”
The annual IACAS conference is considered one of Israel’s leading aerospace science and engineering events, bringing together researchers, engineers, academia and senior industry leaders from Israel and abroad.
