Saudi led Coalition in Yemen Destroys Houthi Militia Sites near Sanaa

Tel Aviv: The Saudi Arabia led coalition in support of legitimacy in Yemen on December 15, confirmed the destruction of two sites near the capital Sanaa where ballistic missile activity and explosive carrying drones were observed.

The Saudi Arabian led intervention in Yemen (a coalition of nine countries from West Asia  and North Africa) was launched by Saudi Arabia on March 26, 2015, responding to calls from the President of Yemen for military support after he was ousted  by the Houthi movement, despite the progress in the political transition led by the United Nations at that time.

The coalition also announced the destruction of two workshops for assembling and installing ballistic missiles in the Bnei al-Harit district.

According to the spokesman, a site under construction in Sanaa that was restored for the purpose of the UAV activity was destroyed, which indicates that precautions were taken to save civilians and civilian sites from being damaged by peripheral damage.

On Tuesday, December 14 – the coalition announced the destruction of one of the secret sites of the Houthi militia for the development of quality capabilities in the Azal district in the capital Sanaa, in addition to the destruction of two caves hewn in the mountains built to store ballistic missiles.

The coalition also said that it had destroyed 4 secret warehouses at the site linked to the UAV activity. The attack came after an air offensive was declared on Houthi military targets in Sanaa. The spokesman added that the hostile attempts by the Houthi militias to harm civilians necessitated an ongoing military response to neutralize the threat.

Over the past few days, the coalition has carried out, intermittently, several attacks against the militias, which for months have not stopped harming civilians and endangering the lives of thousands of displaced people in the Marib district.
