Rafael to Highlight Combat-Proven Integrated Capabilities at Farnborough Airshow 2026

Farnborough, United Kingdom: Rafael will highlight a comprehensive portfolio of integrated capabilities at Farnborough Airshow 2026, with a focus on combat-proven systems at the cutting edge of long-range precision strike, airborne intelligence, communications, cyber, satellites, air defence, and counter-UAS.

Against a backdrop of accelerating global rearmament and an increasingly complex threat environment, Rafael comes to Farnborough with a portfolio defined not by capability on paper but by operational performance in the field. The company sees significant potential across European and global markets for systems proven in the most demanding operational environments in the world and is using Farnborough as a platform to highlight both the breadth of that portfolio and the industrial infrastructure that delivers it.

Long-Range Precision Strike and Standoff

Rafael’s standoff strike focus centres on systems designed to penetrate contested, GPS-denied environments and deliver precision effects at range. The combat-proven SPICE 250, supported by its Automatic Target Recognition capability in active operational conditions, serves as a new standard in affordable precision strike, enabling aircraft to engage multiple targets autonomously in a single sortie without requiring GPS or laser designation.

ROCKS, a long-range air-to-surface missile optimised for hardened and deeply buried targets, extends Rafael’s high precision strike reach across complex threat environments. Rafael will be highlighting expanded launch platform developments for ROCKS at Farnborough, with further details to be announced during the show.

ICE BREAKER, Rafael’s fifth-generation cruise missile, combines low radar cross-section, terrain-following navigation, AI-based scene-matching, and man-in-the-loop control to deliver precision strike at ranges up to 300 kilometres across all weather conditions. Designed as a true multi-domain weapon, ICE BREAKER is compatible with air, sea, and land launch platforms, offering customers a common munition across services and reducing logistical complexity at scale.

Airborne Targeting and Intelligence

The LITENING 5 targeting pod, the world’s most widely deployed targeting pod carried on more than 25 aircraft types across 28 air forces, represents Rafael’s airborne intelligence and targeting focus at Farnborough. Having supported hundreds of successful UAV intercepts across multiple active operational theaters, LITENING 5 has evolved from a precision strike enabler into a true multi-mission asset, providing automatic detection, tracking, identification, and terminal guidance across a range of munition types. The German Bundestag’s recent authorisation of 90 LITENING 5 pods for the Luftwaffe’s Eurofighter Typhoon fleet, inclusive of the system’s real-time connectivity and data-sharing capabilities, further affirms the pod’s vital role in NATO air operations.

Air Defence

Rafael’s air defence capabilities span the full threat spectrum. Iron Dome, the world’s most combat-tested air defence system, has intercepted thousands of threats including rockets, cruise missiles, and UAVs across successive operational campaigns.

In December 2025, Rafael delivered the Iron Beam high-power laser system to the IDF, marking the world’s first operational deployment of a laser-based aerial interception system. A joint Israeli Ministry of Defence and Rafael test series has since validated the integration of Iron Beam into Iron Dome’s battle management architecture, enabling commanders to route incoming threats between missile interceptors and the laser based on threat type and conditions.

The Iron Beam 450, first displayed at DSEI 2025, is the latest addition to Rafael’s directed-energy portfolio, which also includes Iron Beam-M and LITE BEAM, providing scalable laser solutions across fixed, mobile, and forward-deployed configurations. David’s Sling addresses the medium-to-long-range ballistic missile and cruise missile threat layer, while the SPYDER family anchors Rafael’s short-to-medium range mobile air defence offering, most recently selected by Romania in the largest defense contract in Rafael’s history.

Underpinning the entire portfolio is MiCAD, Rafael’s battle management C4I system, whose open architecture enables seamless integration across sensors, effectors, and command networks, providing commanders with the rapid decision-making capability that modern layered air defence demands.

Counter-UAS

As the low-altitude drone threat continues to evolve in scale and complexity, Rafael is focusing on a cost-effective, layered suite at the national level composed of kinetic intercept solutions designed to address the full spectrum of UAS threats.

First showcased at DSEI 2025 in London, the portfolio comprising Sky Dart, Hunter Eagle, and Ghost Hunter provides armed forces with scalable, affordable hard-kill options as a complement to Rafael’s established electronic warfare and combat proven directed-energy solutions.

Capability at Scale: Rafael’s European Ecosystem

Farnborough 2026 also offers an opportunity to highlight a dimension of Rafael’s offering that is increasingly decisive in European procurement: the ability to deliver advanced systems at scale, on accelerated timelines. Rafael’s global industrial ecosystem, anchored by local manufacturing infrastructure across Europe and worldwide, enables a stronger, more reliable supply chain and shorter delivery schedules than conventional defence procurement models typically allow. For European armed forces operating under urgent rearmament requirements, that combination of combat-proven capability and industrial delivery confidence is a meaningful and tangible advantage.

“The security environment has changed fundamentally, and so have the expectations placed on defence suppliers. The threshold has shifted. Proven performance and reliable delivery are now the baseline requirements, not differentiators. Rafael’s portfolio at Farnborough reflects exactly that. These are not concepts or prototypes. They are combat-validated systems, refined through operational experience in the most demanding environments any defence technology has faced, backed by an industrial ecosystem built to deliver at pace. That combination of proven performance and delivery confidence is what Rafael brings to its partners, and it is what defines our relevance in this market,” stated Yoav Tourgeman, CEO and President, Rafael.
