EDGE Entity HALCON Sign Contract with TÜBİTAK SAGE for Chemical Engineering Training

EDGE entity HALCON will send employees to TÜBİTAK SAGE for training in formulating composite propellants

 

Abu Dhabi, UAE. EDGE Group entity, HALCON, a regional leader in the design and production of guided weapons systems and beyond, signed a contract with The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (TÜBİTAK SAGE), a leading research and development (R&D) institution in the field of defence industry technology and producer of precision air-to-surface weapons. The contract was signed at IDEX 2023, one of the largest tri-service defence exhibitions in the world, which is being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, until 24 February.

Under the contract, HALCON will send employees to TÜBİTAK SAGE for training in formulating composite propellants and liners on a laboratory scale. Two HALCON employees will be sent to TÜBİTAK SAGE for a month-long course over the next 18 months.

Over the next year and a half, HALCON’s young engineers will gain invaluable insights from the highly-experienced TÜBİTAK SAGE team and incorporate their learnings into HALCON’s solutions.”

Gurcan Okumuş, Director of TÜBİTAK SAGE, said: “We are very glad to establish links with HALCON and to sign our first contract as a service provider. We hope to increase the number of business activities in the near future.”

Attendees of IDEX can visit EDGE and its portfolio of companies at Hall 5, stand A-05 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between 20 to 24 February, 2023.
