Pune: Bharat Forge Limited announced that its Chairman and Managing Director, Baba Kalyani, has been honoured with the CNN-News18 Indian of the Year Award 2025 in Business, one of India’s most coveted recognitions, reserved for leaders whose contributions have fundamentally shaped the nation’s economic and strategic landscape.

The award was presented by Amitabh Kant, Former CEO, NITI Aayog, and Justice Indu Malhotra (Retd.). The distinguished jury unanimously commended Baba Kalyani for placing India firmly on the global industrial map, driving indigenous defence capabilities with world-class engineering excellence, and redefining what Indian manufacturing can achieve on the international stage.
At the ceremony, Kalyani dedicated the honour to his grandmother and the family, acknowledging the values, discipline, and resilience that have guided his journey over four decades of building a globally admired organisation. He reflected, India now stands at a historic inflection point, where the next phase of defence and manufacturing growth will be defined by innovation-led engineering, process transformation, and the creation of a strong product-driven ecosystem.
