BEL Signs Joint Development Agreement with IIT Madras, MoUs with Pravartak Technologies Foundation and Truecom Networks 

Bengaluru: Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) said in a release on November 18 that it has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) for co-operation in the field of Quantum Science and Technology. The JDA aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and IITM in the area of Quantum Science Technology development.

According to BEL, it also signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pravartak Technologies Foundation, created by Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) with an aim to promote science, research and development and Truecom Networks Private Limited.

The MoU with IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation is for co-operation in the field of Distributed Acoustic Sensing. The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and IITM to develop the technology of Distributed Acoustic Sensing. It will also enable BEL and IITM in addressing future business in perimeter security domain. Whereas, as per the MoU BEL and Truecom Networks Private Limited will co-operate in the field of Field Wireless System (FWS). The MoU aims at leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL and Truecom Networks Private Limited to pursue business prospects in the area of Field Wireless System. Truecom is a company engaged in providing all Mission Critical Information, Communications Systems and Telecom Solutions.

Rashmi Kathuria, GM (SCCS/BEL-Ghaziabad) and Sanjeev Das, MD, Truecom Networks Private Limited, exchanged the MoU signed between BEL and Truecom at DefExpo 2022, in the presence of Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Other Units), Manoj Jain, Director (R&D), and other senior officers of BEL.
