Rafael’s EuroTrophy Signs Multi-Nation Contract with KNDS to Supply Trophy® APS for Leopard 2 A8 Programme

Tel Aviv: Israeli company Rafael announced the signing of a multi-nation contract between EuroTrophy GmbH and KNDS Deutschland to supply Trophy® Active Protection Systems (APS) for the Leopard 2 A8 programmes of Lithuania, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and Croatia.

Valued at approximately Euro (€) 330 million, the contract includes the delivery of Trophy® APS systems, spare parts, training packages, and comprehensive logistical support to ensure long-term availability and through-life sustainment. Trophy® is integrated as part of the Leopard 2 A8’s standard configuration, enabling interoperability and commonality across the participating NATO forces.

Meir Ben Tzook, Chairman of the Board of EuroTrophy, stated, “The selection of Trophy® by multiple European NATO nations reflects a clear and shared confidence in the system itself. Trophy® has demonstrated that it delivers the level of survivability, reliability, and interoperability modern armoured forces require. Through EuroTrophy, European armies benefit from a combat-proven active protection system that is produced, integrated, and sustained in Europe, while fully aligned with NATO operational standards. This agreement firmly establishes Trophy® as a cornerstone capability for Europe’s armoured forces.”

Executive Vice President Tzvi Marmor, Head of the Land & Naval Systems Division at Rafael, commented,

“The joint selection of Trophy® by four NATO nations reflects a clear consensus that active protection has become a foundational requirement for modern armoured forces. As the world’s only combat-proven APS, Trophy® provides comprehensive survivability against advanced anti-tank threats while enhancing situational awareness, interoperability, and operational freedom across main battle tanks and lighter armoured platforms.”

Developed by Rafael, Trophy® is the world’s only combat-proven active protection system, designed to detect, track, and neutralise modern anti-tank threats in real time. Beyond hard-kill protection, Trophy® delivers critical situational awareness to armoured crews, directly supporting survivability, mission continuity, and operational effectiveness in dense and complex threat environments.

Trophy® has been integrated on leading Western armoured platforms, including the Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, and Merkava main battle tanks, and has also been selected for integration on additional next-generation platforms such as the K2 Black Panther. The system is increasingly being adopted on lighter armoured vehicles including Boxer, Patria AMV, and Namer APCs, reflecting the evolution of active protection into a core element of modern armored force design.

EuroTrophy serves as Rafael’s European hub for Trophy® APS, providing localised vehicle integration, lifecycle support, and customer-specific services tailored to European operational and industrial requirements.
