Euronaval 2026: Naval Group Showcases its Solutions to Face High-Intensity Warfare

Paris: At the 2026 Euronaval edition, Naval Group will showcase its comprehensive range of ships, systems, and services as well as its new solutions designed to meet the challenges driven by high intensity and hybrid naval combat.

As high-intensity operations transform the needs of navies and challenge both the structure of fleets and the technological capabilities of ships, Naval Group reaffirms at Euronaval its commitment to working alongside navies to respond quickly to new challenges in naval combat.

During Euronaval, Naval Group will display its product families that build on ships proven at sea and in combat, as well as on operational production lines. Alongside, the group will present its latest developments on the simultaneous use of various technologies: drones, AI and data analytics, information superiority provided by radar and sonar, cyber capabilities, and the principle of fleet hybridisation.

Key Topics at the Euronaval Exhibition

Naval Group’s Ranges of Combat-ready Ships

  • FDI Frigate Family

Discover the FDI, a combat-ready frigate, built in serial production for France, Greece, and Sweden, and so allowing rapid deliveries. It has already demonstrated its capabilities for long endurance and high-intensity operations, under the most demanding conditions around the globe, in all warfare domains.

Designed for extreme weather conditions, the FDI combines advanced anti-air, anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare capabilities in a single platform. The frigate is interoperable with NATO forces and benefits from proven technologies already deployed by the French Navy. The FDI is designed to operate in conjunction with drones and can also carry aerial and surface drones. The design is versatile with a lot of different configurations depending on the requirement of customers. With a wide range of possible configurations, the ship’s multi-mission capabilities can be supplemented with specialised capabilities.

  • Gowind Family

Gowind is a multi-mission surface combatant designed to perform the full range of naval defence operations and maritime security roles, with the highest level of performance. Sturdy, strongly equipped, Gowind integrates, through Naval Group’s SETIS Combat Management System and innovative structural solutions, the latest generation sensors and weapons.

Gowind can integrate customised options and growth potential driven by customer requirement and innovation. Gowind is already in service and meets the strategic stakes of major navies, as 11 units have

already been chosen by various navies which need a multi-mission combat ship to carry out maritime protection operations and ensure their sovereignty. Most of them are built locally, thanks to technology transfer and partnerships with local industries.

  • Blacksword Barracuda

The Blacksword Barracuda leverages the Barracuda family’s feedback and commonalities. It is long-range and long-duration conventionally propelled submarine featuring all the required operational capabilities for a first-rank Navy. It is extremely stealthy, equipped with a wide range of sensors, weapons and means of action.

Designed to be robust and resistant, it offers the means to operate far, long and in ever more demanding environments. It is equipped with the very latest generation of lithium-ion batteries, enabling it to operate under water for several days at a time, at any speed. To this day, 4 Blacksword Barracuda submarines have been ordered by the Netherlands in 2024, and the first unit will be delivered in 2033.

  • Scorpène Submarine

Scorpène conventional attack submarine, a multi-mission sea proven submarine designed by Naval Group to cover the full spectrum of submarine warfare, such as anti-surface warfare, antisubmarine warfare, special operations or intelligence gathering. Extremely stealthy with a powerful combat capability (torpedoes and missiles) and high operational readiness, contributing to a credible deterrence. With 14 submarines built worldwide, the Scorpène is a key reference of conventional attack submarines (SSK) for navies around the world.

Hybrid Naval Combat

  • Drones and Autonomous Systems

As the battles of tomorrow will be drone-intensive, connected and collaborative, Naval Group designs and develops drone capabilities, including drone projection ships for mine warfare and anti-submarine warfare, as well as key technological capabilities. Through its complete range of drones, the group aims at creating a fleet of interoperable drones, capable of sharing information in real time and ready for combat. Naval Group focuses on integrating drones into complete naval combat systems (ships, submarines) with which they operate in synergy.

  • Concept Ship SCX26

The SCX 26 is a research project that brings together responses to new operational requirements, lessons learnt from recent conflicts and medium to long-term technological developments, with a view to testing hypotheses regarding a still highly theoretical ship concept designed for the naval combat of the future.

The design of the SCX26 is based on tried-and-tested solutions, but also on technological breakthroughs that are likely to become available soon.

Counter-drone Warfare

The emergence and proliferation of drone attacks, combined with asymmetric threats, place anti-drone warfare at the heart of the challenges facing surface ship protection. To stay ahead of rapidly evolving threats, Naval Group offers an open and scalable architecture, proven solutions, and artificial intelligence to accelerate the decision-making process.

Designed by Naval Group, Rampart is a system created to respond to evolving and escalating asymmetric threats. It is a near-field auto-defence system designed to respond to the evolution and escalating of asymmetric threats. Unveiled as a concept in 2024, the system benefitted from rapid and agile development on Naval Group’s own funds.

Artificial intelligence is also contributing to the growing maturity of anti-drone capabilities within the group: in 2025, Naval Group acquired a 20% stake in cortAIx Factory France, Thales’ AI accelerator dedicated to critical systems.

Modernisation

The new operational rhythms, confronted to high intensity, require adjusting maintenance schedules to accommodate more sustained deployments with greater uncertainty, with the goal of enabling fleets to travel farther, more often, and for longer periods. Naval Group offers customised and scalable solutions that can be integrated into the existing environment, to modernise surface combatant, submarines and logistic vessels, to face the new challenges.

Naval Group can develop and deliver customised solutions of extension and upgrade of all kinds of naval platforms and systems over their entire life cycle.
