ParaZero’s C-UAS Solution ‘Defend Air System’ Garners Wider Interest Globally

Tel Aviv: The wide use of drones in military conflicts and full scale wars results in many companies developing protection systems against this threat.

Israeli companies have a massive presence in this growing market but one has developed an interesting system that is already creating waves.

After years of saving numerous unmanned and manned aerial systems, by operating an automatic parachute recovery systems, Israeli company ParaZero applied its revolutionary patent-protected technology in order to lead the battle against hostile drones and developed the Defend Air system.

“Our drone technology solutions leverage a distinct technology portfolio protected by global patents that we have developed over the course of more than ten years. We believe that this technology portfolio enables us to effectively counteract various threats posed by drones by rapidly developing bespoke C-UAS solutions for key clientele,” said Boaz Shetzer, ParaZero CEO.

“Recent international conflicts have highlighted the extensive use of drones in various attacks and the critical necessity to counteract these strikes promptly with minimal damage. We have commenced development of dedicated solutions, based on our technology, and we believe that ParaZero can provide a unique alternative to today’s conventional solutions,” Shetzer added.

The Israeli company ParaZero offers different versions of this unique system.

PERSONAL: An innovative, lightweight, and portable system designed to enhance the safety of infantry units at the platoon/squad level.

The system includes a personal net launcher that can be carried as part of a combat vest, providing soldiers with an effective and easy-to-use tool for neutralising hostile drones.

Its lightweight design ensures mobility and flexibility while maintaining operational safety due to its non-explosive mechanism, guaranteeing no harm to surrounding personnel.

This cutting-edge solution empowers ground forces with rapid, efficient drone mitigation capabilities during missions.

ARMOURED VEHICLES: A fully automated Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) designed to protect military vehicles in operational environments. The system is mounted on a dedicated turret integrated with radar, enabling rapid detection and neutralisation of hostile drones.

This advanced solution ensures the vehicle and its occupants remain protected without causing any damage or risk to the forces inside the vehicle or to nearby personnel.

DRONE MOUNTED DEFEND AIR SYSTEM: A drone-mounted net interception system providing last-mile defence. This solution enables high-speed pursuit of targets, providing enhanced flexibility and precision in countering aerial threats.

The system’s adaptability allows it to be mounted on a wide range of drone platforms, including FPVs, ensuring optimal performance in various operational scenarios while not replacing soft kill (jamming, spoofing etc) solutions but complementing them with a soft-hard kill non-explosive solution suitable for urban environments.

According to ParaZero, Defend Air system turns into a quick and efficient C-UAS solution that can intercept more dangerous threats and conduct high-speed aerial chase. The pod’s architecture enables it to adjust the system settings to achieve the best possible outcome for any kind of threat and use scenario, such as quicker deployment at close range and greater distance. Various nets and textiles, each specific to its target kind and characteristics, can be deployed by the pod.

Amir Lavi, Head of Marketing, ParaZero said that after the net traps the drone, it can either fall down or in case the intercept is in an urban area, can be carried to a safer area with a special parachute to avoid harming people on the ground.
