Navantia and Alpha Unmanned Systems Forge Strategic Agreement to Advance Naval Unmanned Capabilities

Madrid. Navantia S.A., S.M.E., a global leader in the design,  construction, and life-cycle support of advanced naval platforms, and Alpha Unmanned  Systems S.L., a Spanish company internationally recognised for its tactical unmanned helicopters and UAV subsystems for defence applications, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop future collaboration opportunities.

The agreement creates a framework for both companies to jointly explore synergies in ship-borne unmanned aerial systems, to strengthen their combined naval offerings for domestic and international clients. As part of this collaboration, Alpha’s A900 UAV helicopter system will be considered in Navantia’s technological portfolio, enhancing its unmanned systems capabilities and integrated naval solutions.

Designed for operation in maritime environments, the A900 provides powerful intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, improving the situational awareness of naval forces. The A900 can be equipped with a variety of payloads, including electro-optical/infrared cameras, maritime radars, and communication relays.

The A900 is already operational with navies and border control forces in 12 international markets, where it supports maritime security, anti-piracy, search and rescue, and coastal surveillance missions. Its proven performance at sea makes it an ideal unmanned aerial platform for integration into Navantia’s range of high-technology naval vessels.
