Tel Aviv: Israeli IMCO Group, a developer and manufacturer of defence and industrial systems, announced the first deliveries of operational systems, marking full-scale operations at its Romanian subsidiary, IMROD.
According to the company, this milestone marks the transition from infrastructure establishment to active programme support, enabling IMCO to ensure operational capabilities for European defence customers through a combination of advanced engineering, system integration, and localised production.
IMROD Romania now supports the delivery of integrated, mission-critical systems for a range of European defence platforms, with focus on armoured vehicles and air defence programmes, providing customers with shorter lead times, increased supply chain flexibility, and closer alignment with programme requirements. All activities are carried out in accordance with European Mil-Spec design frameworks and regulatory standards, ensuring full compliance with local programme requirements.
Operating within the European Union, IMROD serves as IMCO’s European hub, enabling localised engineering, integration, and programme support for defence platform manufacturers and integrators across the region. This proximity supports more efficient collaboration and improved responsiveness throughout the lifecycle of defence programmes.
As per the company, for European customers, this translates into enhanced supply chain resilience, improved delivery performance, and access to integrated, high-performance solutions combining advanced engineering with proven system capabilities.
IMCO’s innovative solutions and long-standing partnerships with world-leading OEMs demonstrate its proven ability to support EU and NATO programmes in keeping pace with the evolving character of warfare by enabling faster, scalable design, development, manufacturing, and delivery.
Ariel Kandel, CEO of IMCO Group, said that the shift to operational activity in Europe allows the company to work closer to the customers, within their regulatory and engineering environments, and to support programmes in a way that is fully aligned with European requirements for a massive ramp-up of defence industrial production capacity.
”Through IMROD, our European hub, we are strengthening our ability to support long-term programmes while aligning with initiatives such as SAFE (Security Action For Europe), aimed at reinforcing Europe’s defence industrial base and ensuring security of supply consistent with the initiative’s requirement that significant portion of component costs originate within the EU. IMROD has the potential to scale its operations by up to ten fold, including facility expansion to approximately 6,000 square metres and a significant increase in engineering and technical personnel,” added Ariel Kandel.
