The International Police Expo 2026 served as a major launchpad for domestic defence innovation. HFCL Defence generated significant footfall at its stall by showcasing its advanced tactical communication systems, surveillance radars, and a state-of-the-art Coastal Surveillance System (CSS) engineered for maritime border protection.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru-based SSS Defence stole the show with its next-generation small arms. Public attention centered on its .338 Saber sniper rifle – the exact weapon used by the National Security Guard (NSG) to win the All-India Police Commando Competition.
Drone Power on Display
Reflecting global conflict trends, drone and counter-drone technologies dominated the expo, accounting for over 35% of the exhibitors.
- SSS Defence debuted Varaha, a passive, acoustic-first counter-UAV system that tracks and neutralises drones without emitting radio frequencies.
- Israeli firm Septier Communication introduced a high-precision interception system capable of tracking both drones and their operators in real time.
- Coimbatore’s UMS Technologies showcased high-calibre engine systems designed to power high-performance unmanned aircraft.
Armed with over five-decade of experience in supplying engine systems for high-performance model aircraft or components for industrial applications, UMS Technologies boasts capabilities to give wings to any drone system through its high-calibre and powerful engine systems.

- Indrajaal Drone Defence unveiled India’s first AI-integrated anti-drone patrol vehicle, built to counter aerial threats whilst on the move.
In view of the fast-changing defence landscape, driven by lessons from the Ukraine war and the Middle East conflict, drones have emerged as an indispensable asset for militaries across the world. All this, because of their ability to undertake surveillance, precision strikes, reconnaissance and logistics missions at relatively low cost has fuelled an unprecedented surge in demand across armed forces worldwide.

The Rise of Digital Intelligence and Mobility
Beyond aviation, the exhibition highlighted a sharp industry pivot towards AI-driven forensics, cyber intelligence platforms, and mobile forensic laboratories designed to modernise criminal investigations.
Next-generation security mobility also drew massive crowds. Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) exhibited its latest Light Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LAMV), built for rugged terrains. Additionally, the DRDO and CRPF jointly presented the Rakshita motorbike ambulance, an innovative solution for rapid casualty evacuation in remote conflict zones.
Ultimately, the event proved to be more than a trade show; it served as a critical forum for international collaboration, shaping the future of homeland security in an increasingly tech-driven world.
