The humanitarian cargo, including Russian-made test systems for the timely identification of infected persons and providing them with medical assistance, was delivered to Caracas and handed over to the Venezuelan side on August 18.

The new coronavirus pandemic poses an objective threat to the life and health of the population of many countries around the world. In this situation, Russia, which has accumulated a lot of experience in countering large-scale epidemics, provides substantial assistance in this area to other states. Bearing in mind the bilateral strategic partnership, Rosoboronexport decided to provide humanitarian aid to Venezuela.

Rosoboronexport highly appreciates the level of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Venezuela, which fully corresponds to the nature of relations between our countries in recent years. As a result of successful and mutually beneficial cooperation, Venezuela has not only equipped its armed forces with advanced weaponry, but also considerably improved their training proficiency. This enables the country to reliably ensure its own defensive capacity and successfully counter drug trafficking and organized crime.

The Armed Forces of Venezuela have been successfully operating Russian weapons and military equipment supplied by Rosoboronexport, including aircraft, helicopters, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, various missile and artillery systems and small arms, including the famous Kalashnikov assault rifles. The supply of modern air defense systems to Venezuela made it possible to build an effective integrated air defense system.

In addition, a helicopter training center and a full-flight mission simulator for the Su-30MK2 multifunctional fighter were built and commissioned in Venezuela.
