GRSE Dedicates Vaccination Centre at its Kolkata Unit: A First for DPSU

Kolkata. Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd., (GRSE), a Mini Ratna Category 1 Defence PSU and a leading warship building company under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, has undertaken an initiative to vaccinate its employees by setting up a dedicated Covid Vaccination Centre at GRSE Main unit, Kolkata. The vaccination drive is being organized with support from the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

The Shipyard stands firm in its commitment towards the country’s fight against COVID-19 through this dedicated center which will provide vaccination to all regular and contractual employees of the company, commencing from 31 May 21. GRSE’s COVID-19 Vaccination Centre was inaugurated by Rear Admiral V.K. Saxena, IN (Retd.) Chairman & Managing Director, GRSE in the august presence of Cmde Sanjeev Nayyar, IN (Retd.), Director (Shipbuilding), Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Director (Personnel) and Shri. R.K. Dash, Director (Finance) and other senior officials.

GRSE has been instrumental in containing the spread of first and second waves of COVID-19 with the spirit of resilience. Taking utmost care of the staff and their families who have suffered in the pandemic, the Shipyard has established a dedicated covid care response team working 24×7. Earlier, GRSE has signed MoU with two medical institutions in Kolkata, the Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Thakurpukur and Bharat Sevashram Sangha Hospital, Joka, to set up two Medical Oxygen Plants and donated 02 ambulances to Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.
