Bengalore. Defence Public Sector Undertaking, BEML Limited recorded its highest ever turnover of ₹3557 crs for the FY 2020-21 against the previous year turnover of ₹3029 crs. a growth of 17%.
In spite of major disruption and slowdown of economic activities caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, the Company has been able to perform so creditably.
The Value of Production stood at all time high ₹3556 crs. The Company’s PBT stood at ₹93 crs., a jump of 285% compared to last year.
Under the Atmanirbharata Mission, BEML rolled out state-of-the art machines in all its three business verticals.
The first prototype Mechanical Minefield Marking Equipment Mk-II, built on BEML Multipurpose vehicle (6×6) through ToT from R&D E Engineers, DRDO. BEML is expected to receive the orders of more than 55 systems from MoD after the successful trial evaluation.
BEML supplied the first set of indigenously designed, developed & produced Driverless Metro Train to MMRDA, Mumbai. The train is now under dynamic test trials. BEML will supply total of 96 Metro train sets over the next two years.
BEML delivered one of the Asia’s biggest BH205E dump Truck to NCL apart from BE1800D excavator to Coal India under Aatmanirbharata Mission.
Exports doubled during 2020 – 2021. Further, BEML bagged major orders from Government of Cameroon for supply of 71 units of construction equipment worth ₹160 crs.
“It is creditable for Team BEML to achieve this highest ever turnover in spite of tough conditions and we were able to meet our customers’ requirements amidst lockdown last year. Significantly, we won majority of the orders against stiff global competition,” said Shri M V Rajasekhar, CMD BEML.
