Alpha Data Unveils Industry-first COTS Solutions Built on AMD Versal™ RF Adaptive SoCs

Accelerating Mission-Ready System Deployment Across Aerospace, Defence, and Communications

New Delhi: Alpha Data, a leader in high-performance FPGA-based Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions,  October 28 announced the launch of three groundbreaking products leveraging AMD Versal™ RF Series adaptive SoCs.

These are the first deployable solutions based on the Versal RF adaptive SoCs, offering unprecedented integration and performance from a single chip, for system developers in aerospace, defence, communications, test and measurement, and space ground-segment applications.

The new product range includes:

ADA-PA310 – PCIe® deployment card for workstation and server-class computing

ADA-SA320 – Stand-alone solution for prototyping and rack-mounted environments

ADA-VA330 – Rugged, SOSA™-aligned 3U VPX board for defence-grade applications

big bang

All three platforms integrate the adaptive computing and advanced RF-class capabilities of the Versal architecture, enabling the reception, transmission, and digital-domain processing of 16 wideband RF channels with a fully reconfigurable logic fabric and embedded Arm® processing system. A common architecture allows customers to migrate between PCIe, stand-alone, and VPX form factors — whether on land, at sea, or in the air — dramatically shortening development cycles and time to market.

The highly integrated Versal RF Series heterogeneous computing solution is the 5th generation of AMD direct RF devices and the industry’s first to combine wideband, high-resolution RF data converters, hard IP DSP compute blocks and AI Engines for DSP, along with adaptive SoC programmable logic and an Arm® subsystem in a monolithically integrated, single-chip device for lower size, weight and power (SWaP).

“With this launch, Alpha Data becomes the first to deliver deployable COTS solutions built around the AMD Versal RF adaptive SoCs,” said David Miller, Managing Director of Alpha Data. “By supporting three deployment form factors — PCIe, stand-alone, and SOSA-aligned VPX — we empower our customers to move rapidly and seamlessly from development to mission-ready systems.”

AMD welcomed the collaboration.

“The AMD Versal™ RF Series sets a new benchmark in electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), delivering unmatched observability, ultra-high performance, and exceptional SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) efficiency,” said Minal Sawant, Senior Director, Aerospace & Defence Vertical Market, AMD. “In collaboration with Alpha Data, we’re enabling our customers to build mission-critical systems that push the boundaries of RF signal processing – accelerating development cycles, enhancing resilience, and unlocking new capabilities across the global defence landscape.”

By aligning its products with industry standards such as SOSA and VPX, Alpha Data continues to lead in COTS innovation – delivering high-performance, interoperable solutions with long-term lifecycle support.
