DEFEA 2025 Concludes with Strategic Focus on Innovation, Cybersecurity, and European Defence Cooperation

Athens: The international defence and security exhibition DEFEA 2025 has been concluded, having fulfilled a dynamic and impactful programme bringing together the major defence manufacturers, policymakers, and military officials. Over the course of the three days of the Exhibition, participants had discussions and made presentations, shaping the future of defence cooperation, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

The Exhibition reaffirmed its leading position as a platform for further development of defence capabilities across land, sea, air, cyberspace, and emerging technology domains, space included.

The third and final day of DEFEA 2025 was focused on cutting-edge defence technologies and cybersecurity, bringing to the spotlight the role of European financial instruments in enhancing member states’ defence readiness, and Greece’s plans for a multiple defence dome known as the “Achilles Shield.”

A key session titled “New Perspectives on Cyber Defence and Industrial Cooperation,” featured prominent speakers from the business sector, political leadership, armed forces, and academic institutions. The panel addressed the critical role of cyber defence in safeguarding vital infrastructure and national security, while highlighting the importance of supporting domestic defence industries in their efforts to build robust national cyber capabilities.

Another important event was focusing on European Union funding mechanisms  as the European Defence Fund (EDF). The discussion was focused on how defence companies can access these resources to enhance their competitiveness and secure greater absorption of EU financial support.

DEFEA 2025 welcomed 436 exhibitors from 37 countries, hosted 18 national pavilions, and received 98 official delegations from 45 nations. Leading defence and security companies from around the world showcased innovations and technological advancements across domains including land, sea, air, cyber, and space systems—highlighting the event’s growing global importance and its role in shaping the defence landscape of tomorrow.
