New Delhi: Data Patterns (India) Limited has completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in ST Advanced Composites Pvt Ltd, thereby making the Chennai-based company a wholly owned subsidiary. This move represents a significant step in the company’s strategy of vertical integration within the defence and aerospace sector.
ST Advanced Composites specialises in RF-transparent Radomes, aerospace-grade structural components and defence composite solutions. Its expertise lies in advanced composite technologies that are critical for radar systems, aircraft structures and missile applications. The company’s authorised share capital stands at ₹50,00,000, comprising 5,00,000 equity shares of ₹10 each. For the financial year 2026, its provisional turnover has been reported at ₹416.85 lakhs.
Data Patterns has traditionally focused on designing and manufacturing radar electronics. However, the company has been sourcing Radomes and composite structures externally, which has led to margin leakage, schedule dependency and limited scope in integrated subsystem bids.
By acquiring ST Advanced Composites, Data Patterns aims to bring Radome and composite manufacturing in-house, thereby strengthening its control over critical supply chains and enhancing its competitiveness in integrated offerings. The acquisition is expected to address rising demand from the Defence Research and Development Organisation, international radar original equipment manufacturers and missile programmes.
These customers increasingly seek single-vendor solutions that combine electronics and RF structures. Data Patterns projects that the addressable value per programme could expand by an estimated 1.3 to 2.0 times as a result of this integration. Industry analysts note that the move positions Data Patterns to capture greater value in upcoming radar and missile contracts, where the ability to deliver both electronics and composite structures as a unified package is seen as a major advantage.
The acquisition also aligns with India’s broader push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing, reducing dependence on external suppliers and strengthening indigenous capabilities.
The integration of ST Advanced Composites is expected to provide long-term benefits in terms of cost efficiency, delivery timelines and technological innovation. It also enhances Data Patterns’ ability to compete in international markets, where demand for advanced radar and missile systems continues to grow. The company’s expanded portfolio now covers both the electronic and structural domains of radar systems, offering a comprehensive solution to defence customers.
