PLR Systems – A Joint Venture Between Adani Group and IWI Signs CQB Carbine Procurement Contract With Ministry of Defence

New Delhi: PLR Systems, a joint venture between Adani Group and Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) signed procurement contract on December 30 with the Ministry of Defence for 170,000 carbines, based on the Galil ACE CQB assault rifle. 
Commenting on the announcement in India, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), an SK Group company and a global leader in small arms manufacturing, in a statement said, “We are proud that our Indian joint venture, PLR Systems has been selected by the Indian Ministry of Defence for the procurement of CQB carbines.”
As part of this programme, IWI has transferred advanced technology and manufacturing know-how to PLR Systems, which will produce the carbines domestically, the statement said.
As per IWI, local production underscores the company’s firm commitment to the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, strengthening domestic defence manufacturing capabilities while supporting India’s strategic self-reliance.
Israel Weapon Industries is the main supplier to the Israeli Army and Israeli Police, with combat-proven products used by military, law enforcement and special forces in over 60 countries across diverse operational environments.
Renowned for developing the iconic UZI, IWI continues to set benchmarks in firearm innovation and reliability, developing advanced systems like the ARAD, the NEGEV light machine gun, and the TAVOR.
