The Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub (i-Hub Gujarat), a flagship government-backed incubator, has officially extended its specialised backing to 30 early-stage ventures in the second cohort of its TattvaX Acceleration Programme.
Developed in strategic partnership with SanchiConnect, a specialised community network for deeptech founders and investors, the initiative targets startups operating in high-stakes domain areas including defence technology, unmanned aerial systems (drones) and space technology.
Empowering Deeptech Founders for Strategic Innovation
The programme addresses a critical challenge in India’s innovation ecosystem: bridging the gap between brilliant technical research and commercial viability. While many Indian founders possess world-class technical capabilities, they frequently encounter hurdles in securing growth capital, navigating regulatory frameworks and scaling their businesses into investable enterprises. TattvaX provides these founders with structured mentorship, commercialisation roadmaps and direct exposure to venture capital networks.
“Our vision with TattvaX transcends standard acceleration; we are building a robust support system that empowers deeptech founders to solve hard, strategically important problems,” Hiranmay Mahanta, Chief Executive Officer of i-Hub Gujarat said in a statement. He further added, “By actively promoting indigenous technology adoption within the SME ecosystem, we are not just nurturing individual startups, we are cultivating resilient local markets that provide the essential testing ground for home-grown innovation to scale and compete globally.”
Connecting Innovation with Capital and Public Deployment
A major highlight of the cohort’s journey was a two-day Demo Day event, which brought together all 30 participating startups alongside more than 20 leading investors, venture capital funds and corporate executives. The platform allowed founders to present their solutions, demonstrate working prototypes and engage in high-level deal-making discussions.
Beyond private investments, the initiative emphasises creating practical deployment pipelines for indigenous solutions. The accelerator incorporates specialised innovation showcases designed to connect early-stage companies directly with key government stakeholders.
These include state police departments, municipal corporations and regional public sector undertakings (PSUs). By enabling direct pilot opportunities and procurement pathways, the programme helps transition cutting-edge technologies out of research laboratories and into active deployment across critical infrastructure and public safety sectors.
SanchiConnect’s operating model focuses on establishing localised micro-ecosystems by uniting state bodies, industry hubs and incubation centres. This collaborative approach gives deeptech entrepreneurs structured channels to interact with enterprise buyers, policymakers and institutional investors.

Expanding Sector-Specific Acceleration
Building on the early success of TattvaX, i-Hub Gujarat and SanchiConnect announced plans to expand their partnership. The organisations are introducing dedicated, sector-specific accelerators aligned with key economic and state priorities. Active programmes targeting the drone and aerospace sectors are already underway.
As India continues its push toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat in strategic sectors, initiatives like TattvaX reinforce Gujarat’s growing position as a premier innovation hub for deeptech, defence and aerospace excellence.
