Hughes Precision Books Rs 1,000+ Crores in Orders as India’s Ammunition Exports Take Global Aim

India's leading private sector small caliber ammunition manufacturer secures landmark orders amid a rapidly expanding domestic and global defence market

Panaji, Goa. Hughes Precision Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd., a leading private sector manufacturer and exporter of small caliber ammunition in India, on July 20 announced that its order book has crossed the historic milestone of Rs 1,000 crores. The orders comprise 40% export orders from international clients and 60% from Indian government agencies, including the Indian Army, police, and paramilitary forces, and are deliverable over the next two years.

Established in Goa in 2020 under the “Make in India” initiative, Hughes Precision has setup one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in Goa. Since its inception, the company has invested more than ₹2 Billion and created over 200 jobs at its state-of-the-art facility in the Verna Industrial Estate, Goa.

On October 27, 2025, Hughes was honoured with the award for Best Defence Export Performance in the Medium Sector – FY2024-25 by Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence. The company exports to more than 20 countries and is the only Indian company approved as a supplier to the US Department of Defense and NATO forces.

Scaling for the Future

To meet surging demand, Hughes is expanding capacity from 80 million to 200 million rounds per annum with a new 100,000 sq. ft. facility completing in December 2026. Once the new facility is operational, Hughes Precision will be the largest manufacturer of small caliber ammunition in Asia and the Middle East. The company is also developing anti-drone ammunition to counter emerging battlefield threats.
