EDGE Joins Forces with the Office of the Deputy Chief of Police & Public Security in Dubai, and Abu Dhabi Police to Foster Innovation in Law Enforcement

Signing of two Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) lays the foundation for exchanging expertise, innovating ideas for future developments

Abu Dhabi-UAE. EDGE, an advanced technology group for defence and beyond, today signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with the Office of the Deputy Chief of Police & Public Security in Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police to forge collaboration on advanced technological solutions that address law enforcement operational requirements. The first agreement was signed by Waleid Al Mesmari, Vice President of Programme Management,  EDGE, and General Walid Al Mannai, Director of the General Department for Local Development and Innovation of the Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai. The second MoU, between EDGE and Abu Dhabi Police, was signed by His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, and His Excellency Major General Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, Director of Finance and Services in Abu Dhabi Police.

Designed to strengthen synergies between the public and private sector, the two separate deals enable the exchange of subject matter experts and their specialist knowledge, and provides capability-development training that leverages the latest virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) solutions. The initiatives align seamlessly with the UAE’s industrialisation plans to develop homegrown solutions and to increase contributions to the national economy by means of advancing innovation and future technologies.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, praised the signing of this MoU with EDGE, stating that “it is a positive step towards strengthening joint cooperation efforts between the two sides to serve public interest in key areas of research, security and training, through innovating ideas for future developments. Reflecting our aim of enhancing innovation and exchanging expertise, this partnership support the efforts of the government and wise leadership, and benefits the country and its people.”

His Excellency Major General Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili said: “The signing of the MoU between EDGE and Abu Dhabi Police is a major step towards pursuing opportunities and ideas for future development. We look forward to building on this partnership with EDGE and building a better future for the coming generations.”

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai said: “The signing of MoUs with both the Office of the Deputy Chief of Police & Public Security in Dubai and Abu Dhabi Police are important deals for us that acknowledges our leading capability in public safety and homeland security. Collaborating with government organisations for the best security capabilities is a cornerstone of EDGE’s strategy.
