C3iHub, IIT Kanpur Signs MoU with HQ Central Command, Indian Army to Launch Advanced Cybersecurity Training Programme

Kanpur:  In a major stride toward bolstering the nation’s cyber readiness, C3iHub, IIT Kanpur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Headquarters Central Command, Indian Army, to launch an advanced cybersecurity training programme for its units and formations.

Delivered by C3iHub, a leading cybersecurity research and innovation hub at IIT Kanpur, the initiative includes two structured 3-month modules carefully designed to equip Army personnel with essential cyber defence skills. The programme aims to deepen understanding of emerging cyber threats, strengthening incident response capabilities, and elevating overall operational readiness in the digital domain.

By integrating modern cyber defence frameworks into formal military training, this collaboration aims to significantly enhance the digital security ecosystem across the Central Command theatre.

The MoU was formalised in the presence of Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva, Chief of Staff, HQ Surya Command, and Prof Somitra Sanadhya, Programme Director, C3iHub. The document was signed by Dr Tanima Hajra, CEO, C3iHub, on behalf of the institute.

Speaking on the partnership, Prof Somitra Sanadhya, Programme Director, C3iHub, said, “This collaboration is a testament to C3iHub’s core mission of translating cutting-edge cybersecurity research into practical, mission-critical capabilities that directly strengthen national defence. We are proud and fully committed to serving the nation by equipping our armed forces with the knowledge and skills needed to prevail in the digital battlespace.”
