BEL Signs MoU with CSIR-NAL, Bengaluru

Bengaluru: At Aero India 2025, Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has signed an MoU with CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bengaluru, to co-operate and work together in the areas of Unified Air Space Management & Sensor Development for Loitering Munition (LM) and High-Altitude Platform Station.
BEL, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, enjoys leadership position in the Defence / Strategic Electronics market in India. BEL is a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-Unit conglomerate which boasts of over 600 products in the areas of Radars & Fire Control systems, Weapon systems, Communication & Network Centric systems, Naval Systems, Electronic Warfare & Avionics, Electro Optics, Anti-submarine Warfare systems, Tank Electronics & Gun Upgrades, Homeland Security, civilian products and Strategic Components.
Some of the areas BEL is focusing as part of its diversification efforts include solutions for Civil Aviation, Unmanned systems, Railway & Metro systems, Network & Cyber Security, Smart City solutions, Space Electronics, Arms & Ammunition and Seekers, Medical Electronics and Artificial Intelligence. BEL is also a CMMi Level 5, ISO As-9100, ISO 27001-2013 (ISMS) certified and CERT-In empanelled agency.
The National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), a constituent of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India, is a leading government aerospace R&D laboratory in the country. CSIR-NAL is a high technology oriented institution focusing on developing small, medium and regional transports aircraft and other aerospace avionics and aerospace composites structures, High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS), unmanned aerial vehicles such as drones for civil and Defence applications.
CSIR-NAL has several advanced test facilities and many of them are recognised as national facilities. CSIR-NAL also has world class composite manufacturing facilities under one roof for design, development and manufacturing of composite components for aerospace applications.
