Pune: In a major leap for India’s aviation training ecosystem, the country’s first indigenously developed Airbus A320 full flight simulator was inaugurated in Pune by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol.
Developed by Capt Sahil Khurana Aviation Academy (CSKAA), the simulator has been designed and built entirely in India, marking a significant stride in the country’s drive toward self-reliance in aviation technology and pilot training infrastructure.
“This is a proud moment not just for Pune, but for the entire nation. The development of an indigenous flight simulator aligns with the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ vision and will help reduce our dependence on costly imports,” said MoS Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol during the launch event.
Unlike traditional simulators which are usually imported at high costs, the Pune-developed A320 flight simulator has been built at a fraction of the cost, making it a cost-effective and scalable solution for domestic pilot training academies and airlines.
The simulator replicates the cockpit environment and real-time operational parameters of the Airbus A320 aircraft, one of the most widely used narrow-body jets in India’s commercial aviation fleet. It offers full motion, visual systems, flight dynamics, and avionics essential for rigorous pilot training and certification.
“Our goal was to demonstrate that world-class aviation technology can be developed right here in India. This is just the beginning,” said Capt Sahil Khurana, the founder of CSKAA.
