BEL Assigned CareEdge-ESG 1 Rating, a First for Aerospace and Defence Company

Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU, has been assigned the CareEdge-ESG 1 rating with an ESG score of 73.8 by CARE ESG Ratings Limited (CareEdge-ESG), a SEBI-registered Issuer-pays ESG Rating Provider.

BEL is the first aerospace and defence company to be assigned CareEdge-ESG 1 rating, reflecting its commitment to sustainable practices in this sector. BEL has demonstrated leadership qualities in its ESG journey, managing ESG risk through best-in-class disclosures, policies and performance.

The company’s consistent focus on water stewardship, emissions control, waste management, human capital, business ethics, reducing water consumption, etc, positions it well for a transition towards more sustainable operations.
