Indian Army Organises Lecture on Holistic Security to Enhance Security Awareness, Preparedness

Poonch:  In a bid to enhance community awareness and preparedness, the Indian Army conducted a comprehensive lecture on holistic security at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Surankote, Poonch. The initiative aimed to educate participants on various aspects of security, including physical safety, emotional and mental well-being, digital and cyber security, and financial security.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local residents. Representatives from the Indian Army, along with subject matter experts, led the sessions, providing practical insights and strategies to address modern security challenges.

The lecture commenced with a focus on physical security, where attendees were taught self-defence techniques, situational awareness, and measures to enhance personal safety in public spaces. This was followed by a session on emotional and mental well-being, emphasising the importance of mental resilience, stress management, and building supportive social networks.

In the digital and cyber security segment, experts educated participants about the rising threats of cybercrimes, phishing, and online fraud. Demonstrations on safeguarding personal data, recognising scams, and securing devices were particularly well-received.

The session on financial security provided valuable guidance on managing personal finances, identifying fraudulent schemes, and conducting secure digital transactions. Tips on financial planning and preventing economic exploitation were also shared.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to not just national defence but also fostering an informed and vigilant society. The interactive program was widely appreciated by the attendees, who commended the Army’s efforts to empower local communities with critical knowledge and skills.
