Turkey Unveils ICBM ‘Yildirimhan’, Israel Concerned

Tel Aviv: Turkey continues to establish itself as a major regional power in the Middle East and recently exposed a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

The Yildirimhan, according to sources, is an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) designed for hypersonic speeds with a range of 6,000 km and has a velocity of up to 15 Mach.

The sources added that the new missile represents a major jump in Turkish defence technology, capable of hitting targets across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It is officially intended for conventional deterrence.

Classified as an ICBM with a 6,000km range and hypersonic, “Mach 25” strike,

Turkey has developed different other ballistic missiles, but the new long range one puts Turkey in a limited category of nations with indigenous hypersonic, long-range technology.

The missiles are designed for high manoeuvrability to evade detection and improved terminal survivability against defence systems.

big bang

The relations between Turkey and Israel have reached an all-time low. Officially Israel has not reacted to the fact that Turkey has gained such long-range capability, but sources said that this is “a reason for concern.”
