Indian Army Signs MoU with NHPC for Construction of Underground Caverns and Semi-underground Bunkers

Faridabad. Indian Army signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s largest hydropower Public Sector Unit (PSU) NHPC Ltd for the construction of underground caverns and semi-underground bunkers at various locations in India on turnkey basis at NHPC Corporate Office in Faridabad on April 25.

NHPC Chairman and Managing Director Balraj Joshi, Director (Projects) Ratish Kumar, Director (Personnel) NK Jain, Director (Technical) Janardan Choudhary and CVO Ved Prakash from NHPC were present on the occasion along with other senior officers from NHPC and the Indian Army.

Under the agreement, NHPC shall be responsible for Design and Engineering, Civil Construction, Project Management and Execution of the Projects. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri, VSM on behalf of Indian Army and Cherian Mathew, Executive Director, Renewable Energy and Consultancy on behalf of NHPC.
