Hical Technologies Raises Its First Institutional Investment from Premji Invest to Accelerate Aerospace and Defence Expansion in India

Deloitte Corporate Finance acted as Hical’s exclusive financial advisor, with the investment supporting manufacturing expansion across South India, and accelerating R&D

Bengaluru: Hical Technologies, a Bengaluru-headquartered manufacturer and significant exporter of aerospace and defence electromechanical parts and systems, has raised USD 30 to 40 million in growth equity from Premji Invest. It is the company’s first institutional investment in a journey of nearly four decades, and will fund an expansion of manufacturing capacity, engineering and R&D as Hical scales its role in global aerospace and defence programmes.

Founded in 1986, Hical has served the aerospace and defence sector for more than two decades, building capabilities across product design, engineering, R&D and precision manufacturing for mission-critical applications. It supplies global aerospace and defence OEMs with actuators, motors, solenoids, transformers and integrated electromechanical systems used in Dassault Rafale fighter jets, commercial aircraft, ship and submarine equipment, defence applications, ISRO launch vehicles and satellite applications.

Hical supplies Dassault Aviation for the Rafale programme and manufactures over 1,000 different part numbers used in Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft and business jet applications. It is building a new manufacturing facility in Hosur and recently inaugurated another facility in Devanahalli. Exports account for over 90% of Hical’s business, reflecting its strong presence in global aerospace and defence supply chains.

The new capital will expand Hical’s manufacturing footprint across South India, adding high-precision machinery, vertically integrated manufacturing and specialised aerospace processes. The new Hosur facility will strengthen the company’s precision machining and specialised manufacturing capabilities. The investment will also fund greater investment in engineering and R&D, and in the trained talent and quality systems that aerospace programmes demand.

The investment comes as global OEMs look to build deeper, long-term manufacturing and engineering partnerships in India. Hical plans to use this next phase to take on more complex, design-led systems, built in India for global programmes.

Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director, Hical Technologies, said, “For nearly four decades, we have built Hical around engineering depth and manufacturing discipline, for applications where reliability is non-negotiable. Premji Invest’s backing helps us accelerate the next phase of that journey. Our ambition is to build from India for the world, not simply by adding capacity, but by increasing the engineering and technology content of what we deliver. As India moves up the aerospace and defence value chain, there is a significant opportunity for specialised Indian suppliers that can meet the quality, traceability and programme requirements of global OEMs.”

Manoj Jaiswal, Partner, Premji Invest, said, “India is developing increasingly sophisticated capabilities across aerospace and defence manufacturing, and Hical is a strong example of this evolution. The company has built deep engineering expertise, specialised product capabilities and long-standing relationships with global aerospace and defence customers. We see significant potential for Hical to scale these capabilities as global supply chains increasingly seek high-quality engineering and manufacturing partners in India.”

The investment will also enable Hical to build additional technical and manufacturing capability as the company scales. Aerospace and defence manufacturing requires highly trained talent, rigorous qualification processes and quality systems designed around precision, traceability and repeatability, areas that will remain central to Hical’s expansion.

The partnership with Premji Invest is expected to help Hical expand its position in high-value electromechanical systems and deepen its participation in global aerospace and defence supply chains.
