Nice, FRANCE: Dhruva Space, a full-stack Space engineering solutions provider, and ICEYE, the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration across satellite manufacturing, Space systems production, Earth observation services, disaster management solutions, and ground segment infrastructure.
The framework brings together Dhruva Space’s end-to-end capabilities in spacecraft engineering, scaled manufacturing, launch integration, ground station infrastructure, and Space applications with ICEYE’s industry-leading SAR constellation and Earth observation expertise.
Under the collaboration, the companies will explore opportunities to jointly develop and manufacture satellite buses and other space systems for domestic and international programmes. The parties will also evaluate opportunities for large-scale production of Space components and subsystems from India, leveraging Dhruva Space’s growing manufacturing capabilities and upcoming 280,000 sq. ft. Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) facility. Once operational, the facility is expected to serve as a significant capacity multiplier, enabling scalable production of critical space hardware and supporting ICEYE’s growing global requirements through a resilient manufacturing base in India.
The two companies further intend to collaborate on expanding access to Earth observation data and analytics in India. Through Dhruva Space’s AstraView offering, customers will gain access to the world’s largest and most advanced SAR constellation through ICEYE, enabling timely, all- weather imaging solutions for Government and commercial users.
Recognising the growing need for Space-enabled decision-making, the collaboration will also explore applications including novel use cases across disaster management, agriculture, maritime monitoring, climate monitoring and more, supporting Government and private sector stakeholders with integrated data and software-driven solutions.
Additionally, the companies will evaluate opportunities to utilise Dhruva Space’s Ground Station network to enhance data accessibility, accelerate downlink capabilities, and develop Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) offerings for customers operating in and through India.
Sanjay Nekkanti, CEO & Co-founder, Dhruva Space, observed, “I’m excited to share how this partnership demonstrates the convergence of two complementary strengths: Dhruva Space’s end-to-end space engineering and infrastructure capabilities, and ICEYE’s globally trusted SAR and Earth Observation expertise. Together, we are exploring opportunities that span the entire value chain, from manufacturing and space systems to data delivery and applications that create tangible impact on Earth. As India continues its emergence not only as a Spacefaring nation but also as a global hub for Space industrialisation, partnerships such as these will be instrumental in scaling sovereign capabilities, strengthening supply chains, and delivering Space-enabled solutions to customers around the world.”
Rafal Modrzewski, Co-founder & CEO, ICEYE, added, “India represents a strategically important market for Earth observation, sovereign Space capabilities, and advanced Space-enabled services. Through this collaboration with Dhruva Space, we look forward to exploring opportunities that combine local manufacturing, rapid data access, and innovative applications for customers across sectors.”
The collaboration will be pursued on a project-by-project basis, enabling both companies to identify and develop opportunities that strengthen India’s Space ecosystem while serving global markets.
The MoU was announced at Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France. This ongoing 3-day showcase brings Indian startups onto the global stage while strengthening engagement between Indian and European innovation ecosystems. The announcement aligns with growing India-Finland cooperation in Deep-Tech sectors, reflecting a broader momentum towards trusted international partnerships in critical technologies, advanced manufacturing, and Space & Defence. Against this backdrop, Dhruva Space and ICEYE’s collaboration represents a convergence of complementary capabilities across the Space value chain, from manufacturing and infrastructure to data and applications.
