BEL Wins Awards for Exports, CSR

 

Lucknow. Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has won two awards at the annual Aerospace & Defence Awards organised by International Aerospace — for ‘Excellence in Exports’ and ‘Excellence in Contribution Towards Positive Social Impacts (CSR)’.

MV Gowtama, CMD, received the awards on behalf of BEL from Lt Gen (Retd) Satish Dua at the awards ceremony held in Lucknow on February 4. Trilok Desai, MD and Publisher of SAP Media Worldwide Ltd, was present.

BEL achieved an export sale of US$21.6 million during 2018-19. The company is giving increased thrust to harnessing the export potential of its products and systems. BEL is also exploring civil markets for Smart Cities, Solar Power Generation, etc, in developing and third world countries.

CSR projects undertaken by BEL contribute to inclusive growth and equitable development in society through capacity building measures, empowerment of the marginalised and underprivileged sections/communities.

The major thrust areas of BEL’s CSR activities are Healthcare, Preventive Healthcare & Sanitation, Education & Vocational Skill Development, Environmental Sustainability & Ecological Balance, Protection of National Heritage, Art & Culture, Promoting Rural & Olympic Sports and Rural Area Development.
