North Tech Symposium 2026: Focus on Collaborative Development

North Tech Symposium 2026 is all set to ignite Prayagraj with innovation and collaboration, from today onwards till May 6. The symposium is targetted to become a convergence of vision, technology and national strength. In addition, North Tech Symposium will provide an opportunity to connect, collaborate and shape the future of India’s defence ecosystem

Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh will host the North Tech Symposium (NTS) 2026, from May 4-6, 2026. The symposium focuses on defence innovation, showcasing indigenous technologies and industry collaborations, with participation from both established players and startups.

The symposium, themed ‘Defence Triveni Sangam’, will be inaugurated by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, with Yogi Agidtyanath, CM, Uttar Pradesh and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh attending as special guests.

The symposium, which is being organised jointly by the Northern and Central Commands of the Indian Army in coordination with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), aims to present a comprehensive display of advanced military technologies, defence industry innovations and the operational capabilities of soldiers deployed in challenging terrains and address operational challenges through technological solutions.

Defence spokesperson Wg Cdr Debartho Dhar described the symposium as a ‘single-window platform’, connecting armed forces, academia and defence manufacturers, thereby strengthening the country’s strategic ecosystem.

Major highlight of the event will be the focus on future of defence mobility. Live demonstrations will showcase cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance troop safety and operational efficiency, even in extreme geographical conditions. These include AI-based surveillance systems and heavy-lift logistics drones capable of supporting military operations in remote and difficult areas.

The theme of the symposium, “Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry and Soldiering Converge,” highlights the focus on integrating technological development with operational requirements of the Armed Forces.

Commenting on the usefulness of such events, Raj Kumar Pandey, Joint Managing Director, ADSL, JCBL Group said, “Indigenous defence innovation is now moving from intent to impact. Two thematic seminars are also scheduled to be held during the symposium. The sessions, titled Strategic Autonomy in Next Generation Advancement and Manufacturing (SANGAM) and Defence Industry Harnessing through Resilient UPEIDA Verticals and Alliances (DHRUVA), will bring together experts from the Armed Forces, industry and academia to discuss issues related to capability development, emerging technologies and research trends.
