India Takes Part in Meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO

Bishkek. For the second time in a row as full member, India along with other member nations took part in the meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Kyrgyzstan capital of Bishkek on May 21-22.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj attended the last CFM meeting in Beijing (China) on April 23-24, 2018. India actively took part in various SCO dialogue mechanisms under the Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic over the past year.

The CFM meeting has reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming SCO Summit and also exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional importance.

External Affairs Minister’s programme in Bishkek included the meeting of Council of SCO Foreign Ministers and a joint call of SCO Foreign Ministers on Kyrgyz President Mr Sooranbay Jeenbekov.

The next SCO Summit will be held in Bishkek on June 13-14.
