The Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjib Singla, the Deputy Director General of Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gilad Cohen and the Director of Purchasing and Logistics of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Batito, were waiting for the plane.

The first emergency help given by Israel, which included oxygen generators and respirators, arrived in New Delhi as early as Thursday morning and was transferred for use in local hospitals. Additional cargo planes are expected to move additional equipment over the next few days.

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said: “Israel continues to transfer medical assistance to our friend India, which will contribute to the fight against Corona, which is seriously harming the country. This is a complex political, health and logistical operation in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs enlisted in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Finance and the National Security Council. We will stand by India in these difficult days, just as India stood by us in the first weeks of the corona crisis and allowed necessary medical equipment to reach the country.”
