Burgettstown, PA. 6K Additive Inc., a leader in production of high-performance metal powders based in Pennsylvania, and ADDMAN, a premier additive-enabled manufacturing company headquartered in Florida, on September 30 announced a 30-month long-term supply agreement (LTA) with a minimum value of US$8.1M and a maximum of US$10.8M over the contractual term.
Under the terms of the agreement, 6K Additive will supply high-performance Nickel 718 alloy powders to support ADDMAN’s expanding production requirements for the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors. The framework provides opportunities for the companies to collaborate on additional business as demand develops, strengthening ADDMAN’s access to domestically produced powders and supplementing its supply chain.
The agreement also establishes a structured revert buy-back programme, creating a circular supply chain. Under the programme, 6K Additive purchases revert powder from ADDMAN and processes it into new, high-purity powders via its proprietary UniMelt® microwave plasma system.
“At ADDMAN, we push the boundaries of what’s possible in manufacturing, which requires partners like 6K Additive who are equally committed to excellence and innovation,” said Joe Calmese, CEO of ADDMAN. “Our relationship with 6K Additive strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance components for critical aerospace, defence, and energy applications while supporting a more efficient and sustainable approach to powder lifecycle management.”
By combining its UniMelt microwave plasma system with proprietary processes, 6K Additive has developed a world-first technology capable of converting revert, such as used powder, into premium spherical metal powders, including titanium, nickel, and refractory metals. This domestic production capability reduces reliance on foreign supply chains and supports the material integrity required for mission-critical applications within sensitive industries such as defence.
“This agreement is a natural evolution of the long-standing relationship and trust between our two organisations,” said Frank Roberts, CEO and Managing Director of 6K Additive. “By transforming ADDMAN’s revert into high-performance metal powder, we’re demonstrating that upcycled feedstock can deliver the quality required for demanding additive manufacturing applications. Our process produces highly spherical powder that supports repeatable printing, improved part quality, and reliable mechanical performance. At the same time, we’re aligned with the nation’s priorities by keeping critical materials within the US supply chain and lowering total cost of ownership for the end-user through our powder buy-back programme. This is a powerful model for resilient, domestic advanced manufacturing.”
