INS Ajay Decommissioned

 

Mumbai: Indian Naval Ship Ajay (P34) of the 23rd Patrol Vessel Squadron was decommissioned on September 19, 2022 after rendering 32 years of glorious service to the nation. The Commissioning Commanding Officer, VAdm AG Thapliyal (Retd), was the Guest of Honour.

The decommissioning ceremony was held at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai wherein the National Flag, Naval Ensign and Decommissioning Pennant of the ship were lowered for the last time at sunset, signifying the end of the commissioned service.

The ceremony was presided over by VAdm AB Singh FOCINC Western Naval Command. The event was attended by commissioning crew of the ship, ex-Commanding Officers, the present crew and their families and large number of personnel including senior officers of the Indian Navy.
