Aerospace Business of Godrej Enterprises Group Secures Agreement with Safran Aircraft Engines

GEG’s Aerospace Business to manufacture critical LEAP engine components

Mumbai: Godrej Enterprises Group’s (GEG) Aerospace business September 12 announced that it has entered a contract with Safran Aircraft Engines, a world-class commercial and military engine manufacturer. Under the five-year agreement, Godrej will develop Titanium material-based complex ventilation assemblies for LEAP engines, one of the best-selling commercial aircraft engines in the world.

The LEAP engines, developed by CFM International – a  50/50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, are powering next-generation narrow-body aircraft. This milestone reinforces Godrej’s commitment to advancing India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and aligns with its vision to become a key supplier to global aircraft engine OEMs. The production will involve complex machining, precision welding, and advanced non-destructive testing to meet the stringent standards of civil aviation.

The complex ventilation assemblies, located within the main turbine shaft of the engine require advanced manufacturing precision and stringent quality standards. With this order, Godrej Enterprises Group strengthens its longstanding partnership with Safran and expands its role in supporting global aero-engine programs.
