New Delhi. Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff’s visit to Sagar Defence Engineering’s research and development facility was marked with a detailed review of Sagar Defence Engineering’s cutting-edge projects, including the Autonomous Underwater Vessel and the Autonomous Weaponized Boat Swarm, being developed under the iDEX DIO initiative.
Admiral Tripathi engaging with the Sagar Defence’s engineering team, examined the capabilities of these innovations, particularly their autonomous navigation and surveillance systems. His feedback emphasised how such advanced technology could significantly enhance the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities and strategic advantage.
At their research and development facility, Sagar Defence Engineering hosted Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, and Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA). This visit underscored the growing importance of innovation and self-reliance in India’s defence sector.
Admiral Tripathi highlighted the importance of aligning these innovations with India’s broader defence goals during his address. He reaffirmed the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” and praised the role of young innovators in achieving an Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).
“The young generation is not just shaping their future but contributing to the nation’s growth as well. With continued progress at this pace, I am confident that our country will achieve the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by 2047, as envisioned by our Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.

Her interaction focused on women’s empowerment, providing encouragement and motivation for the female engineers. She emphasised the crucial role women play in technological innovation and the importance of inclusivity in driving progress.
