Hyderabad. The latest plane offered by Boeing in its 777 family made the first ever call in India at Hyderabad’s Wings India 2024. A tour of the aircraft gives a feeling of space and added passenger comfort.

The Boeing 777X is the newest of Boeing’s market-leading twin-aisle airplane family. Based on the most successful widebody airplane ever, the 777, and with advanced technologies from the 787 Dreamliner family, the 777X family is designed to maximise efficiency and environmental performance while providing an exceptional passenger experience.

The city of Hyderabad hosted the Indian civil aviation enthusiasts, today to witness the path breaking Boeing 777-8, 777-9 the newest member of Boeing’s market-leading wide-body airplane family.

Based on the most successful twin-aisle airplane ever, the 777, and with advanced technologies from the 787 Dreamliner family, the 777X family is designed to maximise efficiency and environmental performance while providing an exceptional experience. Boeing continues to work toward delivery of the first model, the 777-9, in 2025.

Hugely Improved Offering

Boeing designed 777-9 passenger airplane responds to market needs and customer preferences. The 777-8 competes directly with the A350-1000, while the 777-9 fills a unique segment in the twin-aisle market.
Opening new growth opportunities for airlines, the 777-9 seats 426 passengers in a typical two-class configuration, with a range of 7,295 nautical miles (13,510 km).

The 777-9 will be the largest and most fuel-efficient twin-engine jet in the world, with the lowest operating cost per seat of any commercial airplane and an exceptional passenger experience.

Advanced Technologies Results in Increased Efficiency and Environmental Performance
The 777X family is designed to maximise efficiency. Engineering design improvements and innovative new technologies, including a new carbon-fiber composite wing, all-new engines and a natural laminar flow nacelle, together will help the 777-9 achieve 10% lower fuel use, CO2 emissions and operating costs than the competition and an impressive 40% lower noise level than the airplanes it will replace.

Engine supplier GE was the first partner announced for the program. The GE9X engine will be the most advanced, fuel-efficient commercial engine ever – more than 5% more efficient than anything in its class.
The fourth-generation composite wing also contributes to efficiency. A simple, folding raked wingtip and optimised wingspan of more than 72 meters deliver greater efficiency and significant fuel savings with complete airport compatibility. The 777X family also adds other proven 787 technologies where they add value such as in the flight deck.

Passenger Comfort

Boeing is the market leader in twin-aisle airplanes, freighters and airplane cabin design. Its designs are informed by decades of research, experience and innovation to benefit both passengers and crew.

The new 777-9 will take that advantage to the next level by incorporating the best of the passenger preferred 777 and 787 families with new advances to deliver the flight experience of the future.

On the 777X family, passengers and crew alike will enjoy thoughtful features such as a more comfortable cabin altitude, better humidity, a smoother ride, a quiet environment, more natural light and soothing LED lighting.

Even the bins have been redesigned for ease of use, holding twice as much while closing up and out of the way with 40% less force. And with a spacious cabin that is wider than both its predecessors and competition, the spacious 777-9 offer a new level of comfort that is unmatched.

The 777-9 also feature an innovative cabin architecture that adds further value for airlines. Airlines can choose from a suite of standard parts and options to tailor the ceilings and bins in each section of the same airplane. The result: a more customised passenger experience without the time and expense of custom designs.

The feeling of space when you enter the 777-9 is awesome. It doesn’t have a traditional claustrophobic feel of a plane, instead it offers you a completely new experience, with comfortable seats, bigger windows and overhead bins.

The media groups which toured the interior of the plane was most impressed with its size and feeling of immense space, and they were equivocal in the technical performance and passenger comfort, for which Boeing engineers have really worked hard for.
