BEL Receives Rs 1,251 Crore Order for Supply of Ground Based Mobile ELINT System to Indian Army

Bengaluru: Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, valued at Rs 1,251 crore (excluding taxes) for supply of Ground Based Mobile ELINT System (GBMES) to the Indian Army.

The GBMES is a totally indigenous, state-of-the-art system designed and developed by DLRL, Hyderabad, and manufactured by BEL.

The networked intelligence system is capable of detecting, classifying and locating all types of radars. The system also intercepts and analyses all communication signals. The GBMES system enhances the situational awareness and Air Defence capabilities of the country.
