Tel Aviv: Russia is creating new world alliances that will severely impact US interests in many regions of the world. An Israeli defence source claimed that Washington is yet not aware of the changes in the international arena.
According to a report in the website of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) on July 3, 2024, Houthi political bureau member Muhammad Al-Bukhaiti posted on his X account, a photo of a previous-day meeting in Moscow between Houthi spokesman Muhammad Abdulsalam and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov.
Commenting, Al-Bukhaiti wrote in English, “America excelled over others in its ability to employ all global differences to mobilise its allies and neutralise its opponents in order to eliminate them one by one. I believe that this image foretells a global political shift that heralds the end of American hegemony.”
The Houthi rebels in Yemen continue their armed operations. They keep launching missiles in the direction of Israel. These are intercepted by the Israeli air defence systems. The Houthis have renewed their attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
On July 9, 180 nautical miles east of Nishtun, Yemen, in the eastern region of the nation and the Gulf of Aden, there was an explosion recorded. The incident seems to demonstrate once more how the Houthis’ threat and range have grown.
Israeli defence sources say that the new “friendship” between Russia and the Houthis is worrying. “Russia has tightened its defence relations with Iran and now there are indications that Moscow is talking directly with Iranian proxies,” they added.
