Collins Aerospace signs DispatchSM agreement to support Japan Airlines 787 fleet

  • Agreement covers avionics, sensors, and fire protection equipment on the airline’s 787 fleet
  • New contract builds on existing support of Japan Airlines A350 fleet

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. Collins Aerospace has entered into a long-term agreement to support Japan Airlines’ (JAL) fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft through its DispatchSM flight hour program. Dispatch guarantees the availability of high-performance avionics and communications assets to customers around the globe.

The agreement marks the continuation of a successful relationship between JAL and Collins Aerospace. Collins currently provides service to the airline’s A350 fleet through an existing Dispatch contract. JAL will have comprehensive support that includes global pool access, maintenance services including reliability upgrades, access to Collins Aerospace’s worldwide 787 asset pools, and technical assistance.

“We have a longstanding relationship with JAL and we see this new agreement as a show of confidence in our program and the services Collins provides,” said Lisa Steffen, vice president and general manager, Avionics Service and Support for Collins Aerospace. “With thousands of aircraft covered globally, Dispatch is a proven, cost-effective solution to help airlines like JAL keep their fleet flying at peak performance.”
