Mahindra Emirates Displays Armoured and Tactical Vehicles at IDEX 2021

Abu Dhabi: A Mahindra Group subsidiary company, Mahindra Emirates Vehicle Armouring, is displaying a range of its latest armoured and tactical vehicles at the 15th edition of International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) which is underway in Abu Dhabi from February 21 to 25.

Mahindra Emirates Vehicle Armouring, which manufactures light combat vehicles, produces them in its engineering facility and R&D centres located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE and Aqaba, Jordan. In a statement, the company said: “IDEX is the first major defence exhibition amid the current global events and we are excited to be part of the event.”

In a tweet, SP Shukla, Group President – Aerospace, Defence & Agri Sectors, Mahindra Group, said: “Our specialty armoured vehicles are fast gaining traction in Africa & Middle East.”

Mahindra Armoured develops a wide range of up-armoured sports utility vehicles, pickups, bus and cash-in-transit vehicles based on Mahindra, Toyota, Ford, Lexus, Nissan, Audi, and GMC platforms with ballistic protection up to B7/VR7 level protection. The MEVA armoured Toyota Land Cruiser 200 is tested and certified to VPAM BRV 2009 VR7, ERV 2010 and VSAG 2012 VS6 in accordance with BSI PAS 300.

IDEX 2021 is the West Asia’s largest defence expo showcasing the latest military equipment, innovations and warfare technologies. There are 110 international delegations, 900 companies from 60 countries, and a participation rate of 16 per cent UAE-based national companies.

By the end of the second day of the event, 11 new deals worth AED 7.293 billion, were signed with local and international companies, taking the total value of deals signed to AED 12.323 billion.
