IAF Locates Wreckage of Missing An-32 Aircraft

New Delhi. The wreckage of ill-fated Indian Air Force (IAF) An-32, which went missing on June 3 after getting airborne from Air Force Station, Jorhat in Assam, has been found.

The wreckage of the aircraft was spotted 16 Kms North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by the IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone on June 11.

Efforts are on to establish the status of occupants as we as the survivors. Further details will be communicated as the recovery is in progress, a press statement issued from the IAF HQ said.
