Indigenously Developed Explosives Successfully Tested By Indian Navy

Date:

NEW DELHI: The certification tests for explosives developed by Solar Industries’ group company Economic Explosives Limited (EEL), Nagpur, were successfully conducted by the Indian Navy.

The certification tests marked a significant step towards achieving Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence. This development aims to enhance the potency and efficiency of the Navy’s weapons and ammunition.

Developed by Solar Industries, the explosives are part of an initiative to boost indigenous defence capabilities.

The new explosive formulation, SEBEX 2, according to Solar Industries’ EEL, provides a much more powerful blast effect compared to currently available solid explosives. The performance of explosives is measured in terms of TNT equivalence, with higher TNT equivalence indicating greater lethality and destructive power.
