Indian Space Conclave 2023 to Open Next Week, Focus on Fostering Innovation and Collaboration

New Delhi: The second edition of the Indian Space Conclave 2023 will take place from October 9 to 11, 2023, in New Delhi, it was announced by the Indian Space Association.

Dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships in the rapidly evolving space sector, the inaugural day of the three-day event in partnership with the French Embassy, will highlight the Indo-French Space Synergy plenary session, featuring esteemed dignitaries from the French space industry.

Emphasising discussions related to communication in the space sector, the second day will focus on “Space Communication & Readiness for Next-Gen Challenges”.   On the third day, the spotlight will be on the “Space Ecosystem for Societal Benefit & Global Diplomacy,” featuring essential sessions in collaboration with IN-SPACe and discussions regarding the development of Space Parks in India. The conclave will also include a diverse range of stimulating discussions and collaborative sessions organised with the Office of PSA.

The conclave anticipates over 750 delegates across the three days and will feature more than 140 speakers, representing 27 companies from France, 75+ foreign delegates, 25+ exhibitors, 20+ sessions, and 25+ supporting and academic partners from over 5 countries. The event will witness several significant initiatives, including the recognition of industry and academic stakeholders involved in Chandrayaan-3, the launch of the ISpA-Nasscom SpaceTech Report, the Defence Space Challenges (IAF) Award Ceremony, ISpA Industry Awards presentation, and other insightful discussions and sessions.

Participation of top government officials are expected in the three-day event including Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways; Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State of Space, Science, and Technology; Devusinh Chauhan, Minister for State for Communications; Dr Neeraj Mittal, Chairman DCC & Secretary (T), DoT; S Somanath, Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman, ISRO; Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of Air Staff; Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe; Lt Gen MU Nair, National Cybersecurity Coordinator; Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Chief Nodal Officer for the UPDIC project; and AS Kiran Kumar, Member Space Commission and Former Secy DoS & Chairman, ISRO, among others.

In addition, speakers from the French Space industry, including Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India; Marc Serres, CEO, Luxembourg Space Agency; Astronaut Thomas Pesquet from ESA; and Cédric Post, Deputy Director International, European and Commercial Affairs, GIFAS, are expected to participate.

Keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops covering a wide range of topics, including India’s space program, sustainable development, emerging space technologies, disaster management applications, space exploration, human spaceflight, and international cooperation in space security will be the key feature of the conclave.

“We eagerly anticipate exploring Indo-France synergies that promise fresh ideas and advancements in space exploration. Building on the success of the previous year, the second edition of the Indian Space Conclave 2023 promises to be even grander, positioning space as a potent sector for the global market,” stated Lt Gen AK Bhatt (Retd.), Director General of the Indian Space Association in an official statement.
