BEML Ltd Secures MoD Order Worth Rs 293.81 Crore for 150 High Mobility Vehicles

Bengaluru. BEML Limited, a Schedule ‘A’ public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has been awarded a ₹293.81 crore order by the Ministry of Defence for the supply of 150 units of indigenously designed High Mobility Vehicles (HMVs) 6×6. The HMVs will primarily be manufactured at the state-of-the-art Palakkad and Mysore plants, with additional production in other divisions based on operational feasibility. The vehicle 6×6 is designed to deliver exceptional reliability and versatility, even in the most challenging environments.

Key features of these vehicles include an independent suspension system, a high-power air-cooled engine, a central tyre inflation system, an anti-lock braking system, and a backbone tube chassis design. These features ensure superior mobility, stability, and operational safety. The vehicles are capable of operating in extreme terrains, climatic conditions and at high level altitudes.

Its deployment underscores a strategic commitment to strengthening & enhancing operational reach, and ensuring that vital resources and services are available to strengthen the defence infrastructure even in the most challenging terrains.
