SIKA Aerospace Signs MoU with HAL for Strategic Cooperation in SAR, MEDEVAC & Aerial Firefighting

 

Bengaluru: SIKA Aerospace, a division of SIKA Interplant Systems Limited entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to pursue strategic business cooperation in in the Airborne Search & Rescue (SAR), Casualty/Medical Evacuation (CASEVAC/MEDEVAC), Aerial Firefighting and Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief (HADR) domains for aviation, aerospace and defence platforms.

The MoU intends to leverage the existing business relationship between HAL and SIKA, utilising each company’s respective strengths, to generate mutually beneficial business outcomes while providing state of-

the-art solutions to customers. Further, the MoU envisages combining HAL’s experience in manufacture, integration, and upgrades of platforms together with SIKA’s expertise in supply and integration of SAR, CASEVAC, MEDEVAC and HADR equipment, and is consistent with the goals of the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative.

The MoU was signed by Nikhil Dwivedi, General Manager, HAL Helicopter Division, and Kunal Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, SIKA Interplant Systems Limited at Bangalore on February 14, 2023 during the Aero India 2023 which concluded on February 17, 2023.

HAL, a premier aerospace company in Asia under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is involved in design, development, manufacture, supply and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters, aerospace equipment, engines, and accessories.
