Saurabh Kumar Appointed Indian Ambassador to Myanmar

NEW DELHI. Senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Saurabh Kumar has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Union of Myanmar.

A 1989 batch officer Kumar is Indian Ambassador to Islamic Republic of Iran at present.

He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has held various commanding positions including Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (Counter Terrorism and Policy Planning & Research), and also Joint Secretary, National Security Council.
